Little Miss Blue Eyes is Looking For A Home

This puppy was found one morning in mid-January curled up in the pine straw underneath a bench. She was in severe pain due to an injured rear leg. We suspect she may have been hit by a car the night before, but will never know for sure.  A kind neighborhood vet (Dr. Carlson at Intown Animal Hospital) agreed to examine her, and after taking x-rays it was determined that her femur was broken. Surgery was scheduled and two metal pins were used to successfully re-secure her hind leg.

Ella (as she is now called) is now confined to a crate for the next 3-5 weeks in order for her leg to properly heal.  She is undergoing therapy twice a day on her leg (icing and stretches) in order to help the muscles strengthen.   She is a loving girl and is expected to make a full recovery after her confinement period ends.  Despite her unfortunate circumstances early on, she maintains a terrific outlook on life.   She is affectionate, loves to have her belly rubbed and will give you as many kisses as you can stand.  Her bright blue eyes are always twinkling and her tail continues to wag.

We believe Ella is a Husky/Shepherd/Lab mix and will probably grow to be 65+ pounds.  At approx. 4 1/2 months old, she weighs 23 lbs.  She is curious about other dogs and wants to play with them.

At the end of her 3-5 weeks confinement, she will be ready for a new home where she can play and be a normal puppy again.  If you are interested in having her become a part of your family, or know someone who might be, please contact JP at 404-441-3864 or jppurdy@aol.com.
